Rock Collecting

Not Little Rocks..
.but BIG Rocks

The above picture is of a rock I found, looks just like an arrow, one of my favorite rocks.

We have some really big rocks on our property, there are other properties up here on the mountain with large rocks too, I think we have the most concentrated collection...

Same rock, different view, this rock is about 8 ft. tall

This rock is a Biggie.... it is 7 ft. tall x 20 ft. long x 16 ft. wide

Same rock, different view...  it's rather flat on top

Moss and Fern covered Rock

Really tall rock, about 2 stories high
Maygan and I climb this rock for picnic lunches

The Gnome Home
(hole in the picnic rock)

And yet, another rock

Well, that's all the rocks for now... just think of the history these rocks have seen, been here for hundreds of years.  Did the glacier put them here for me?

I'm heading downtown to a rummage sale at the church.  Hope I find some goodies!

Have a Sunshine-eeeee Kind of Day,
Traci

  3. Reminds me of when I was a child. We lived at the bottom of a mountain, and there were many large rocks that I used to sit on and daydream. It's the little things in life that are so special.....

  4. Like Penny, these wonderful rock formations remind me of my childhood. My sisters, brothers and I would play for hours on end, pretending we were cave people and there were dinosaurs out to eat us. lol
Thank you for sharing and bringing back memories.

  5. Love your rocks, but I think I prefer the flat ones, so I can build more rock walls..although those mossy ones have a special place in my heart too. We collect a rock from places we travel too - but after a year or so, I can't remember which rock came from where.
Have a great day from a fellow rock collector!

  9. Girl, I'd say you've got some ROCKS!!! They're so COOL! I have a bit of a thing for rocks - always picking them up and bringing them inside (put them in my salesman sampler egg crate if they look like they have a face...) But yours are ENORMOUS!! YIKES! Lucky you to live in that special place in history! Smiles & Hugs, Robin
