Fall & Woolie ♥

...Happy Fall my Friends...

Love this warm & cozy time of year BUT...it has been a bit on the chilly side the last few days.  I prefer a gentle ease into the cold weather.

I've added a few touches of Fall to the homestead, nothing much..
mostly naturals this year.
Sunflowers, Rosehips, Indian Corn

Pretty dried sunflower on my quilt rack

Crocks & Drieds atop the drysink

Sunflower Garland & Indian Corn on the mantel

more Rosehips, Pumpkins & Gourds

Dried Pumpkin Chunks & Quince Slices

Wax Sunflower from Misi (I've had the sunflower for over a year, it still smelly divine)
and mini Indian Corn

And a special thank you to my friend Granny Trace for this extra special gift I received in the mail on Saturday....She shared her Woolie Love with me...Granny T, you are one of the sweetest ladies I know.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart ♥

A few of the signs I've been working on, will be set up at a small Fall Festival this coming weekend.
Been busy in the painting and making early wares in the woodshop

Also finished a couple hooked ruglets

Well, I bid you farewell...time to get back to work.  Thanks so much for your company today!

New Olde Stuff

Just look at this pile of old stuff I was lucky enough to aquire just yesterday!

One estate sale, one yard sale and one thrift shop later
the back of the Trailblazer was packed
there is something about old wood...any kind of old wood that makes my heart skip a beat.
Boxes, crates, tables, chairs
I ♥ all of 'em

super old headboard and footboard
not sure what it will become but I'm thinking on it

And please, pull up a seat...this is where my "new" table and chairs took up residence

more pictures of my morning coffee spot, just this morning while on my way to have a seat
there was a pretty doe in the back woods
I scared her and she scared me, LOL

my final find of yesterday was this super old, super long bench

I had to steal hubby's truck from work to pick it up

Have a Great Day...and weekend for that matter, my friends!
Blessings, Traci

Ladies Night Gathering

Last evening I hosted what I hope to be the first of many
Ladies Night Gatherings....  a few of my favorite neighbor friends came to visit

We think it may become a monthly event, hosted at different homes each time

As you know, I love to decorate...the green, white and yellow theme was
chosen from the pretty hydrangeas that are blooming now.

Started digging and I came up with more green wares than I thought I had
Green & White Enamelware made for great ice and drink containers on the beverage table.
Lime Mojitos and Lemonade were served

The table I set for friends
a simple potted plant wrapped in burlap for favors to take home

Maygan made the Welcome Sign
I spray painted placemats for on the food buffet..burlap with a fern frond for a stencil

a buffet of munchies...Fiesta, Crab & Vegetable Herb Dips with crackers & chips
my friend Traci brought Chicken Wing Dip...a delicious Apple Dessert by Melanie and Pat brought yummy
Mint Ice Cream Treats from Skinny Cow!

..x...x...x...x...x...x...x..
We have had a frenzy of wildlife lately..  I took this picture on July 4th..
note the big Gray Fox int the background along the tree line.  He/she was hoping for a quick lunch of baby turkey who the momma hen had safely retreated to the tree above.  The two large birds in the photo were trying to divert the fox's attention

Blog Deserter?

I feel like I am a blog deserter...
Don't post, don't read posts
shame on summer time

A little bit of what's been happening in these parts

The lastest addition to my shanty

Maygan & I made this sign a week or so ago
and we made this too, using up scrap wood from the shed

My potting bench got oiled....FINALLY

The kitchen garden is growing with lots of help (and not from Mother Nature)
she is slacking on her watering duties this year

tomatoes are starting

lots of cuke blossoms

Just this morning we had a big flock of turkey come through the yard of the camp next door
many hens and babies.....then all of a sudden into the picture comes a Fisher
above photo was not taken by me

Hubby and I had seen one about 3 weeks ago walk right up the tree line by my garden, now I'm starting to think it has taken up residence in the back woods.  Anyway, this morning it was after the turkey!!  I made hubby run in the house, grab the gun and fire off a shot to scare it away.  Let's hope it went far away.

Seems like I should have lots more to share, been busy as all get out, just not sure how much has been accomplished.  I love summertime but it seems to be so busy and is gone in a flash.

Wishing you all the very best!

Pickin' & Grinnin'

Maygan's the one...grinnin'
well, I must say that I have a smile on my face too

We went pickin' this morning, looking for treasures never expecting
to come toting home a Mini Rex.  Maygan has wanted a bunny forever so this was her pick of the morning at one of the sales.  She's in Bunny Love!

these are my picks of the day

and while we are talking about picking...I was serenaded last evening by the lovely sound of my
DH picking his guitar on the porch while I worked in the shade garden...music to my ears

School has been out for a week today, where does time go
Tuesday night we went on an overnight camping trip with Maygan's Girl Scout troop

Here, some of the girls are getting ready to tie dye shirts and pillow cases.  Maygan is wearing the shirt she made in the bunny photo today.

What a great group of girls to take camping!
oh and one honorary Girl Scout...Jay :)

On our way home from the cabin we stopped by Wildwoods Animal Park to take a tour and the troop made a donation to the animals with money they raised from their cookie sales.

Here are John & Pam with their newest addition to the park
a 10 week old cougar

The park holds an annual Native American Festival in the fall, I believe it's Labor Day Weekend.
My DH used to work with both John & Pam and has been friends with them for years.

In other news...  I am still doing work little by little to my Shanty, Maygan & I made a couple of cement Bee Skeps last weekend.  Been working on orders and am hoping to have a large handmade Facebook Update in a week or two.  I have about 42 handmades on my to do list of prims I want to make.  Haha, who am I kidding...it's summertime and I don't like to be inside this time of year :)

I will say so long for now..Maygan says it's time to check on Midnight (the bunny:)
Blessings,
Traci
