Our Weekend....

Well, we knew it was going to be a busy weekend, but it sure was enjoyable. Friday evening while hubby was fishing, Maygan and I went to the auction and found these treasures.

Old Stool~I might repaint it or just stain it? not sure

Berry Tote

Misc Advertising Pieces

This is my Poor Man's Coverlet

Crock Chicken Waterer (is that a word?)

Found some neat things and spent a total of $13.00~ woohoo

Saturday's Grad Party/Pig Roast

Here's dinner coming off the roaster, it was on for 12 hours...

The bonfire was cool, a hollow log filled with metals gave off Blue and Green Flames

Yesterday, we wanted something to do as a family, there was only one stipulation, Maygan said it had to involve water, LOL. So we got going early with only one direction in mind, Lake Erie. Along the way we stopped at a Flea Market in Mayville, NY.
Then we continued on, taking the scenic route...went to Barcelona where Maygan got to swim a bit.

Maygan and her Dad

Me looking for Sea Glass

We started off again along Rt 20, heading towards Erie, PA. To bad it was Sunday cause we passed a bunch of little shops and markets but most were closed :(
This is all you see for miles and miles....it's Wine Country...lots and lots of grapes!

We did make it to Erie, had dinner and headed back home...We made one giant circle, never backtracking....it was a great day, lots of picture perfect scenery and good company.

Catchin' Ya Up Friday

Holy Smokes! It's been awhile since my last post....yes, summers here and I've been busy....mowing yard, pickin' Strawberries, crafting and oh, the everyday stuff too.

~Thank You Kind Folks
Last week one day Maygan wanted to have a Lemonade Stand. I tried to explain to her that we live on a country road and not to expect many (if any) sales, cause there just isn't much traffic. She insisted that she still wanted to try so we made special Star Ice Cubes, Pink Lemonade and fixed up a table to sell from. Bless her little heart, she sat there for over an hour watching what few cars there were pass right by. Me, I'm sittin on the porch, hooking a rug, also waiting and praying for just one customer. Then, it happened....a State Road Crew Truck passed and put on the brakes...beep, beep, beep...it was backing up! Out of her chair she jumped, so excited and was the best Pink Lemonade Sales-Woman I've ever seen. She sold 5 Glasses, all at one time and instead of a Quarter a Glass, they all gave her 50 Cents a glass. She thanked them all for stopping as did I, many times before they left. As they drove away, she started tidying up her table, meanwhile singing a happy little tune. Those Kind Folks had made her day!

This was almost her 6th Customer that day~~~~

This guy decided to stroll into our driveway after the Lemonade Stand closed for the day...He was only 2 feet away from where Maygan was sitting 2 hours earlier...kinda scarey! Yep, I'm hiding behind Massive Rocks we have in our yard snapping pictures.

I made a couple sweet Raggedies yesterday, here is a glimpse at what I've been working on...they are all up and available on my website..

One of these Witch Punkins will be included in my Mystery Giveaway, don't forget to leave a comment on the Giveaway Post to be entered into the drawing July 7th!

Some of my Summer Perennials are starting to bloom, this is one of my favorites.....Red Bee Balm.....

We are going to have a busy Saturday, lots of parties! A wedding at 11am, I used to babysit the Bride to Be when she was just a little girl. Congratulations Brigit & Ken, may you be Blessed with many, many years of Happiness!

Then we are off to a Graduation Party/Pig Roast in the evening. It will be lots of fun.

And,

Donna's Tin Can Challenge

Donna from Sweet Prairie Dwellings offered up a challenge for us prim gals. You had to take an ordinary tin can and make a prim creation out of it. This is what I came up with for mine, just finished it up early this morning.

This is what I started out with, I was going to use 2 cans, one from which I cut the stars out of (ended up not using the stars after all)

Here is my finished Tin Can Candle

To fill the inside of the Tin Can, I used "Great Stuff" spray foam, it worked pretty well. But here's a warning, LOL, don't over fill the can with stuff! I put to much in to begin with and let's just say that it looked like a HUGE Muffin Top when it dryed. Not a problem though cause you can easily cut once dry.
After shaping the dryed foam, I grunged up the top and cut out a hole big enough for a grubby Tea Light.

I enjoyed the challenge and am looking forward to seeing what Donna will come up with for the next challenge. It would be great to get even more gals/guys involved so stop by her blog at

My 1st Hooked Rug

Happy Friday to Ya'll!

I have a whole pile of prims to finish but I got a little side tracked and made my first Hooked Rug the other day. I think for the first attempt, it turned out pretty good. I used Black, Brown and Burgundy Wool strips and hooked on Burlap. The Crow and Star were drawn on the burlap by hand as I didn't have a pattern.

I have always wanted to try Rug Hooking but I didn't think I had the tools, nor did I want to buy a bunch of stuff to try it. Low and behold, I was digging around in some craft drawers and found a rug hook, I think I bought it at a sale a few years back just because it was a wooden handled tool, LOL, don't think I even realized it was a rug hook.

My Crow Rug is about 6" x 7"

I had fun making the first one so a started another, this will be a Willow Tree

Now, my only problem is I have no idea how to finish these rugs. Can anyone give me some advice on how to go about finishing the edges/back?

Oh, and you'll never guess what else I found while I was rooting around, a Punch Needle. Yep, so I just might have to give that a try too. I always say, I'll try anything once.

Have a Great Weekend! Traci

New Prims and Schools Out for the Summer

Hi Ya!
My daughter is so excited, Summer Vacation officially starts today at 11:40am. She could hardly wait to get to school today, she was ready and asking to go 1/2 hour early, LOL.... The last week the kids were busy doing fun activities at school, last Wednesday was their day at the pool, Friday was Fun Day (outdoor Games, I was in charge of the Water Relay Races, yikes) and yesterday was the First Grade Picnic at the park (more games and food). It's hard to believe that Maygan is heading into Second Grade, just where does time go?
This is Maygan's Spring School Picture

I did get a few things finished up and on my website. I have many more in the works, just need to find some time to complete them.

Here is a picture of my new 1791 Witch Doll....she turned out so prim...love her....

This is one of the new Antique Quilt Runners that I finished up. This is a great size for a small table or bench.
