ReplyDeleteI am a follower and I would love to be entered.
My favorite memory as a kid was the whole family piling into the car and Dad driving us to Bowen, IL, for the biggest display of fireworks in our area. We brought blankets and sat on the hood of the car. Mom would have made popcorn to eat. We all oohed and aahed over every beautiful thing they set off. It was an amazing time.
Thanks for stirring these old memories for me.

BTW~I'm having a giveaway for my current followers as well. Stop over.
What a wonderful thing to do Traci!!! And I can only imagine what kind of great goodies is going to be in THAT box! I'm a very happy follower of yours and would love to be entered!! My "favorite" July 4th memory (well, at least the one that immediately springs to mind when that holiday is mentioned!) is the year my son was born....My son was just barely a week old, and my husband was out of town. My older brother felt "sorry" for me having to stay home on the 4th and missing the fireworks....so he brought some over and set them off in my yard. Woke my son up and frightened the dickens out of him and while I was trying to console him, my lawn managed to get set on fire. And I really never did care for fireworks anyway.... :o) Thank you Sweetie for this wonderful opportunity! Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin
ReplyDeleteOhh what an exciting giveaway! I just love Americana..and I"m sure if it's made by you...will ESPECIALLY love it!
ReplyDeleteA favorite 4th memory...When I was in 8th grade, my Aunt was generous enough to invite me along on a trip to all the New England States. All I needed to do was watch my 9 month old cousin. We were able to spend the 4th in Maine...and went out on a boat, to watch the fireworks. I fell in love with Maine...and to this day, it would be my dream spot to live!!
Firecrackers, picnics and carnivals are my favorite things to do on the 4th..Nothing exciting just simple small town life. The way I love it..smile..Count me in on the wonderful drawing.Warm Blessings!~Amy

ReplyDeleteMy favorite Independence Day memories are from when we lived down in the city by a park. Every year they have a festival and it is so much fun even for the kids. The food is wonderful, and that is where I find my favorite homemade strawberry lemonade. The park has a lake and that is where the city shoots off the fireworks, it is a fabulous site to see. :D
Blessings from Jessica

When I was a kid, my whole family would get together at my aunts house in the morning to watch the parade, then we would swim and play games and have a cookout, then we would all change our clothes and go to see the fireworks. Those are memories I will forever cherish, Family means everything and being together is the best.

Hi Traci~
ReplyDeleteI'm a follower & would love to be entered in your giveaway.
My favorite memories are spending time with my family. We always have a cookout, watch the parade (the boys marched in it when they were younger), and watch the fireworks. This isn't my fav memory, but a memory non the less. The first year we had our dog Zoey, the whole family went to the fireworks & left Zoey home. She somehow got stuck in the bathroom with the door closed. She chewed a huge chunk off the bottom of the door trying to get out. Poor little pooch was terrified of the fireworks. We still have the chewed up door on our bathroom.
Have a wonderful day~Becky
I am a follower please enter me , my favorite memory is the local 4th of July fair where I showed my sheep.
ReplyDeleteHi Traci-I'd love to be entered in your giveaway. I'm already a follower-what fun surprises are!!!
ReplyDeleteWe are so lucky to have the town fireworks in the elementary school field right behind our house, so each year we invite family and friends for a big cookout and then head out with our lawn chairs to watch the fireworks. They are so awesome because they are so close! We then come back to the house for a campfire. We've had this tradition for years and years and always look forward to it!
My fingers are crossed - hope to win your giveaway and thank you so much!
As you wish Tracey, I wish to enter your giveaway please. I am an old follower:)
ReplyDeleteOh my favorite Independence Day Family Tradition is the good old cookout with all the good summertime foods, then a short siesta so I can stay up to watch the fireworks. My funnest memory is of having the sparklers going, setting off our own fireworks(oops, is that legal anymore?) and taking our giant sling shot and shooting water balloons! Uh oh, where did they go? That's all I will divulge:) Thanks Tracey!
xoxo~Carol

ReplyDeleteThanks.
My favorite 4th of July memory was the celebration we attended when we were stationed in England. It was an amazing event, the fireworks were the best I had ever seen, even to this day. Maybe it was because we were all so far from home. Who knows.
Now we have family come over and watch the fireworks from my back yard.
Best of all thought would have to be the fireflies. That is when they start to appear for us and it reminds me of being a child every time.
Thanks
Kat
Hi Traci, Would love to be entered in your surprise giveaway. The first memory that popped in my head....Probably 11/12 yrs old. A dry summer. We were at the neighbors with our sparklers and someone got the idea of how cute the sparkler was atop their green bush. Needless to say, we had to put a fire out!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLois

I LOVED the 4th as a kid...my cousins would come up every year from downstate and we would read comic books until it got dark-it takes forever to get dark on July 4th! My dad would tie sparklers to the willow tree branches-always a magical time! ~*~Lisa
ReplyDeleteOh I would love to be entered..as kids my mom would braid our hair and put ribbons at the bottom and then loop our hair and tie it up (by the ears)..so we had loop braids..I always loved my hair like that..and I recall it around the 4th of july..we also loved our sparklers and running around at night drawing letters and words and seeing how long they would last..we also got cap guns too..but loved using rocks to snap the caps..:)

Hi Traci, I am already a follower and would love for you to enter me in your fun giveaway. Every yr. are whole family gets together for a family reunion on the 4th, on a wonderful friend of the family's land. Each family brings a salad to pass. The cost for the meat, beverages, snacks, fireworks, and prizes for games for children and adults are then divided between all the family's(each yr. being a differnt family to be in charge of getting all extras). We start our day about 8am and end the party with a big display of fireworks at dusk. Every yr. new memoriors are made and it's such a fun filled holiday being spent with the entire family. What could be more awesome!
ReplyDeleteHi Tracy,
ReplyDeleteI love following your blog and would love to be entered into your giveaway!
I LOVE July 4th. Growing up, we used to go to our camp on the St. Lawrence river in NY. we would roast marshmallows, burn sparklers, and watch fireworks over the river, those summers rocked! Plus my birthday is exactly one week after so it was a good week!
I also remember the year the movie "Independence Day" came out, think it was summer 1996? it was SO COLD that day, I actually was wearing jeans and a sweater! We decided to go see that movie as it was just to cold out to do anything outside, (raining too)
It was AWESOME, the whole theater went nuts at several points in the movie, it made it so much fun. I will remember that day, so weird but ended up a unique 4th! (gotta love that upstate NY weather!) I smile and chuckle when I think back on that :)
Anyway, thanks for the great giveaway! I have my fingers crossed!
Hugs!
Kerri

ReplyDeleteI'd love to be entered in your giveaway. I love Americana!
