new Make-Do / Re-Do and Fall Simplified

Started adding touches of Fall to the kitchen today, I want to keep it simple this year.
Above is my most favorite table in the whole world, I bought it about 7 1/2 years ago and am still in love with it.

Table top #1

Table top #2

My stash of picnic baskets (hey, they work great to hide crap)
and a lil' wooden chair

atop the fridge

Stove area
My kitchen is like one BIG Make-Do (LOL)
been a work in progress forever --- so you see I don't have cabinet doors
so the prim girl I am, I make-do with what I have...cheesecloth uppers and fabric curtains for the bottom

stovetop

So now, onto my lastest Make-Do project
let me tell you, this didn't take anytime at all

An old expandable screen (free at a yard sale this summer)
+
an antique sewing machine drawer (I've got quite the stash of these)
+
two screws
=

We have a small 1/2 bath off the kitchen, I repainted it a while back and
have had this big (blank) space above th toilet since then.
So today I was looking for something to put there and all of a sudden

the LIGHT BULB WENT OFF

It made a neat little display / cubby for towels and soaps
I just used rusty wire to hang the soap saver, hooked rug (my first) and candle
right through the holes in the screen

so I'll show a little more of the little room while we're here
you can sit on the toilet & wash your hands without moving...it's small

and really, I did wash the mirror before pictures, LOL
it's really old and never, ever looks clean

and Maygan spotted this fungus, she knows I like to take pics of them....
I've never seen one like it
Maygan thinks it looks kind of like a Blueberry Bagel

So hope you're enjoying your weekend friends!

Blessings,  Traci

  1. I like your table! looks like it could live here! The pictures with the little chair, just great. We all have stuff we need to hide, closing my eyes while typing this! Your make do in the bathroom, just terrific, goes great with all the other things. Really likin' what's going on at your house! Hope you have a fabulous weekend!

  2. Truly, do-ly, love your displays Traci!! Everything is just prim perfect!! And that table...oh....that lovely, yummy, table is the very best!! I really like your cupboard coverings - I thought you perhaps intentionally removed the doors to do that! I'd have to clean and organize my cupboards before I would dare do that! So, nope - won't be happening any time soon! And your bathroom make-do is adorable!!! So creative you are my friend! Love it!! Hope you're having a great weekend! Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin (And, yeah, Maygan - it does look like a blueberry bagel!) ;o)

  6. indeed does look like a blueberry bagel!
I love open cabinets. I've always been very organized so I don't understand the people who have stuff falling out when they open the doors! I have glass fronts but I'd love to remove them!
You are always doing something so creative! Love this one, too!
    Warm blessings~Linda
