Feathered Friends Pinecone Treats

If you like to feed the birds, here's a little treat that you can whip up for them. My daughter and I make them every winter and the little birds go crazy, it's something fun and safe to get the little ones involved in.

Peanut Butter Pinecone Treats
Medium Sized Pinecones (however many you want to make)
Jute or Twine for hanger
Peanut Butter (crunchy or creamy, I buy the cheap stuff for this)
**********Simply tie a hanger around the base end of the pinecones with your jute. Spread your peanut butter all over the pinecone from the hanger down (if your doing many cones, I just use my hand). Then, roll them into the birdseed, be sure to apply a little pressure when doing this, it will help get the birdseed into the nooks and crannies.

Now hang them outside for your Feathered Friends. These treats would also make great Natural gifts for children to give to for Christmas! Simply bag them in a clear bag with a festive bow.

  1. Traci, that sounds yummy for the birdies. I'm gonna pass this one on to hubby. He loves to feed the birdies. Thanks friend:) Carol

  2. Carol, thanks for the comment, yes the birds love them. I also have a homemade suet recipe, I'll try and get it posted too. Traci
