Happy Friday!
This has to be a first, I haven't posted since Monday ;)
..the question is where did Tues, Wed, & Thurs. go?
Well, I did make some updates to my selling blog and have been recording the entries for this week's Egg Hunt
(thank you to all who have visited, counted those eggs and as a result are permanently cross-eyed now)
If you haven't yet....you have until 3/5 to count your eggs...go cross-eyed yourself
So as for Tues...well, I started to feel like crud
Wed...I felt like crud
Thurs....started to feel less cruddy
we'll see what today brings

Some new Pinterest info
If you would like to see what content has been pinned from your site/sites
you can use this url code
http://pinterest.com/source/
simply add your site domain after the source/
example:
http://pinterest.com/source/yorkmountainprimitives.blogspot.com
I have had many visitors to my last post about the site and wanted to share some more info
and please, let me say, I am not anti-pinterest and I do allow pinning from my sites.
I just want you, my friends to be careful....
*Many people have said that it is good advertising, and yes, it is but
how many of you actually visit the original source of your pins/re-pins?
you should, if only to check that there is a link to the original work/site
*For many artists/photographers, their images are their lively-hood
so ask permission before pinning (unless express consent has been given),
even though you innocently pin an image, you have no control over how that image will be used by others
visit this site to read from an artist's point of view
artists-bill-of-rights.org
by uploading images..you are granting pinterest rights to all content -
pinterest could legally profit from all uploaded content on their site
*even as a re-pinner, you can be held responsible for copyright infringement
I have been following current discussions on this subject and have come across some comments from artists/photogs who are taking action against these infringements...
In the end, I'm not telling you to stop pinning....just preaching to be careful.
Blessings, Traci

Hi Traci! Hope you're feeling even LESS cruddy today! Seems a lot of crud has been going around this winter..... :(
ReplyDeleteI've been avoiding pinterest (mainly b/c I already spend way too much time on the computer!), but it sounds like you are giving some good advice -- you can't be too careful.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Thanks for the info an pinterest. I hope that the few people who abuse it, don't ruin it for the rest of us. I find it so handy as a file for cool stuff. Hope you get to feeling better. Have a healing day.
ReplyDeleteHi Traci!
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering where the week went too!
Jumped over to your selling blog ~ wonderful creations!!!
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Prim Blessings
Robin
Hope you are feeling better this weekend Traci!!!! The crud is an aweful thing to have becuase it just lingers there forever. Have a wonderful weekend. -Steph-
ReplyDeleteThank you Traci. I hope you have a nice weekend and that
ReplyDeleteyou are rid of whatever you have by then.
Hugs,
Susan
Yike...it did go fast, didn't it? Seems like I was just counting Easter eggs or something..... ;o) I agree with your additional comments about Pinterest - and I have no problem with folks who want to pin from my site necessarily - it's the issue of where it goes from there....And I'm really surprised by the plethora of Pinterest junkies who, when presented with the copyright "issues," really don't seem to care. I don't create anything and have absolutely NO photography skills whatsoever, so it amazes that anyone would "borrow" my photos anyway - but, you're right, for the photographers and artists out there, it's their livelihood..... Hope you're feeling better - I'm sure your little outing yesterday must have picked up your spirits at least some.....Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin
