Snowstorm, Teddy from Tammy & Coffee

Look at this Handsome Guy...  Tammy from A Primitive Place and I did a prim Teddy Bear Swap

Not only did we both receive an awesome Teddy Bear but our timing was perfect, both received ours yesterday.  Tammy is a day ahead of me in posting, if you'd like to visit her post and see the bear I sent her

I just love my Burlap Bear to pieces
I have yet to think of a special name for him...but I will

Thank you Tammy for swapping with me and sharing your talent for making
perfect Olde Primitive Teddy Bears!  I will cherish him always ♥

Tammy has links on her blog to places where she offers her Bears and other Primitive Handmades.

xx..xx..xx

So are you wondering about the Coffee part of my title.....?
We have been without power for 8 1/2 hours and I am just now enjoying my first cup
we had a heck of a snow storm yesterday and last night, woke up to about 7" this morning and no electricity
which of course means NO COFFEE...but all is good now :)

This is was my poor, poor lilac tree, I rescued it a few times yesterday.  This pic was taken before dusk, this morning the top of the tree was touching the ground.

A view from the front steps this morning, it sounded like gun shots going off in the woods.
Trees and branches coming down all over the place

View from my front window..it's pretty but it can melt now and stay gone
until next winter...please!

Today is Tuesday and that means that it is
Display Chain Day...It's all about gardening..you can see links to all participating blogs at
so go, get your garden on!

Now I'm gonna go and get my day on, don't think I'll catch up now, LOL
Thanks for your visits yesterday and today...

Don't Forget

Go ahead...tie a string around your little finger
so you don't forget about tomorrow being

~Display Chain Tuesday~

Let's make this an extra special affair....

The theme for tomorrow's Display Chain is
"Mary, Mary quite contrary, how does your garden grow?"

(I know that for some of us, Mother Nature has put a damper on our gardens...but...
use your imagination if yours is covered with snow :)

I will not be posting a chain tomorrow as I am providing the prize for the winner..but,
you can bet that I'll be visiting all your blogs.

Thank you again Misi for so graciously hosting this fun blog fellowship

Blessings, Traci

I took some time this a.m. to list a bunch of new primitive goodes on my selling blog (it's been awhile)
if you'd like too, please stop by and take a look

whisk brooms, primitive dolls, strawberries & more

Blessings to all,
Traci

Tuesday Display Chain~Crafting Secret Revealed

Display Chain Tuesday, I told myself for two weeks now that I am going to remember to participate in
Misi's Chain Gang!

Well it's Tuesday and I remembered!

To visit all the gangsters stop by Misi's blog ~1890 Gable House for links to all the blog posts and to participate yourself!

This week's theme is Secret Tips & Helpful Hints with ties to
Crafting and/or Decorating

I had a hard time with this, been racking my brain to think of secrets, tips and hints that I have.
Just about came up empty but, I have a couple to share.

My BIGGEST secret is
"think outside the box"

When I create and decorate, I like to "paint outside the lines" so to speak.  I use weird finds in weird ways, nothing "cookie cutter" about my style.

#1 - Don't overlook the possibililites ~ for instance, this is a top to an old egg crate.  I picked it up at a sale, the rest of the crate missing.  So, instead of a nice egg crate to display, I use the top as a prim make-do towel hanger

#2 ~ Here is a use for those old bed pillows that have become to flat to rest your head on...sew a cover for them and use for chair pads.  I have also bought new bed pillows at the dollar store, cut them in half (stuffing & all), sew the open ends closed and cover for sofa pillows.
You can usually pick up a 2 pk. of cheap pillows for $5.00...that makes 4 sofa pillows costing a mere 1.25 each!

#3 ~  Lot's of sewing goes on here..there is nothing worse than getting half way through a doll body and running out of bobbin thread.  I always keep a couple of bobbins wound, that way you don't have to stop to wind the stinking bobbin ;)

#4 ~ Color coded fabric drawers....  my sewing room is by no means organized the way I would like it (severe lack of space)..but I do keep my fabrics all organized in see through plastic drawers, by color.

#5 ~ Creating in masses..I seem to create in "bulk"...I have days where I cut-out and sew all day.  Then it's onto turning & stuffing.  Next comes the painting & staining process.  I find that by having lots of projects in the same stages, it saves loads of time.

Today was Dolly dress-up day...tonight I will put the finishing touches on my new babies and they be ready for new homes.

Thanks for stopping by...be sure to visit all the Display Chains..

Blessings,
Traci

Changing up the Fireplace Mantel

Today I've been tinkering with the Fireplace Mantel
I hate to admit but I still had the evergreen garland up from Christmas

I love the enamelware basin and the farm lanterns so I left them but changed everything else

I like how it came together...a touch of Americana, will add some Red Geraniums later
I'm not quite ready for a full blown summer look yet...too early

So I will leave you to look at the pictures now...Have a Great Day!

Back to "normal"?

Well, friends...things are back to normal..if there is such a word

Spring break is over, the kiddos are back to school.   I believe April Fool's Day is late this year though...
woke up to snow covered trees and ground this morning.

I've been working on new Spring and Summer Primitives...It's strawberry season!
I've made quite a few strawberries lately but they have been selling on facebook and never make it to my
blog or website...

This is the newest of my Early Cubby Quilts..just finished it up last night

And this is my newest Primitive Fowl design..it's a Quail
Finished it to look like old leather

Thanks for stopping by...  Blessings, Traci

a Special Day ~

Maygan + Water = Happiness

It's Spring Break week, no school for Maygan so yesterday
I surprised her with a trip to
Splash Lagoon...an indoor water park not too far from where we live.

Neither of us had ever been before and we both had lots & lots of fun!

The Wave Pool was a Favorite!

I was on chlorine overload by the time we left and we were both tucker out.

Mom + Spending Time with my Girl = Happiness!

Have a Great Day....  Traci
