Apple Berry Crisp Recipe

Topping
1/4 cup melted marg.
1 1/2 cup quick oats
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Fruit
6 med. apples, peeled, cored and sliced
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1 pkg. frozen mixed berries
(I used blackberries and blueberries I had frozen)
1/3 - 1/2 cup sugar (depending on tartness)
2 Tbsp. Flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Add topping ingredients to melted margarine, stir to moisten, set aside.  Mix fruit with lemon juice.  Combine sugar, flour and cinnamon in large bowl.  Add prepared fruit, toss to coat.  Pour fruit mixture into a med - large baking dish, sprinkle with crumb topping.  Bake at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes until apples are tender.

I made this last night and it turned out yummy.  Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

Wishing you the Best Day Ever,
Traci

  1. Traci, At least you had a beautiful tree for a while. I love the look of all the leaves on the ground. I think it was in Country Sampler this month there was a kids wheelbarrow in one of the rooms just filled with leaves. I thought that was such a cute decorating idea.
That recipe sounds wonderful. Thanks for sharing.

  5. Love your poem Traci....and your photos. Our leaves went "down" several days ago - the wind, the rain - made for a hasty departure. My son LOVES apple crisp and I usually make it several times during the fall - never tried it with berries though....hmmm... will have to try something new! Thanks! Have a great weekend! 6. Hi Traci! I really like your photos! I love fall leaves, our are blowing everywhere, and yes, we have had rain too.
I made a similar crisp the other night. I used some pears Sweetie picked out the street. There were few of them, so I added in a couple of apples and a few frozen blueberries he'd picked earlier this summer, maybe 3/4 of a cup. They turned the whole thing the color of grape jelly, but it was good. Very similar to your recipe. Hope you have a great weekend!
