Good Morning Glory

Good Morning...........Glory
& Happy Friday to Ya!

Love their buds

So what's happening this weekend in your world?
Tomorrow is sale days in a neighboring town, I just may
do some more Treasure Hunting.

And, we will be getting the camper ready to move to the fair next week.
Got all the bedding & such washed the other day...now I need to wipe everything down, scrub the
floors and move in our clothes.

I worked on some more Penny Rug Mats yesterday, some small ones, hoping to finish them today.
Stitched until my eyes couldn't see the stitches anymore last night.

I was also looking through some old posts and found this one...  inspired by Patti's new Singer she got, it's a beauty!  Thought you might like to see "my girls", some of my Singers ...

Have a Great Day,

Dessert First! Summer Recipes - Tonights Dinner Plate

It was actually cool enough for me to feel like cooking dinner and to be hungry enough to eat it...

This is what was on our Dinner Plate tonight!

Dessert First
Frozen Peanut Butter Pie
Super simple and whips up in no time

Crust
You can use a store bought graham cracker crust if you wish..

1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1/4 cup sugar
6 TBSP melted butter

Mix together and press into a pie pan...place in freezer while you prepare the filling

Pie Filling
1 - 8 oz. pkg cream cheese softened
1 1/4 cups confectioners sugar
3/4 cup peanut butter
1 - 8 oz. tub whipped topping

With mixer, beat cream cheese until smooth, then add sugar and mix until blended.  Add peanut butter, mix, then add the whipped topping and mix some more.  Once filling is smooth and creamy, spread into prepared crust.  Freeze for about 2 hours, take out 5-10 minutes before serving.  I topped mine with chocolate syrup.

Garden Tomato Salad
This is one of those a pinch of this and a dash of that recipes

1 - 2 tomatoes
Mozzarella Cheese
Fresh or Dried Basil
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Balsamic Wine Vinegar
Salt & Pepper

Cut tomato into bite sized pieces, cube cheese, place in bowl.  If using fresh basil, give leaves a rough chop, if using dried give tomatoes and cheese add about 1 1/2 tsp. more or less to taste.  Add enough olive oil to coat, a splash of vinegar and salt and pepper to taste.  Toss together lightly, refrigerate.

Grilled Garden Fish

Once again, no exact measurements (sorry it's the way I cook, LOL)

1 pkg of Frozen Pollock or Haddock Fillets
(usually about 6 small fillets)
1 Green Pepper sliced
1 Med. Onion sliced
Chopped Tomato (I like, DH don't)
Margarine
Old Bay Seasoning
Pepper
Mozzarella Cheese (sliced thinly)
Aluminum Foil

Lay out a generous sized piece of foil, I put two fillets per grillin' pack.  A few shakes of Old Bay Seasoning atop the fillets.  Add onions, peppers, tomatoes and 3-4 pats of margarine.

More Old Bay Seasoning for me and a pinch of Black Pepper.  Fold foil into a tightly sealed packet.  Preheat grill to 350 degrees, place packets on grill for about 6 minutes per side, turn grill off when done.  Open packets, place sliced mozzarella cheese on cooked fish, close grill lid till melted.

Yummo!

I make this in the oven too, but not in the summer.

Hope you find something that looks appetizing!  Summer cooking is all about not heating the house up to me.  No, .......I can't take the heat in the kitchen, so I grill! hehe

Blessings,
Traci

Weekend Finds=New Projects

Our trip to Rogers Market on Friday was pretty much a bust!
Oh phewy, to hot, not many vendors and
the vendors that were there were selling "market junk"
not the good old stuff I was hoping to find!

With sweat literally dripping from my face, I did manage to find a set of old
barn door hinges and four metal fur stretchers.
Fur stretchers you ask, yes, I think I have a plan for them!
We'll see, no I don't trap, LOL...
Spent a whopping $7.00....and
came home about 5# lighter

This weekend was our town wide yard sale days, usually I have a sale at my MIL's
but not this year...

I went sale hopping
hehe......no that's not me
just a toad I found in the yard this morning

still loaded .....  nice old frame, oak childs table with folding legs (love that part)
wool blanket (goodwill find on Thurs) and an old washstand

talked the guy down on the stand, paid $30.00 including the sacks

I am going to turn this little stand into a small step-back cupboard I believe
=====that's where the new project comes in!

other finds
footed oak basket 25 cents
couple wooden bowls to work with
vintage metal canisters....will sell these

Last night it RAINED, yes, yes, yes, finally a pretty good soaking
didn't do much for the rain barrels, I think it evaporated on the hot roof
on contact but everything got a drink!

You know why it rained, because Maygan and I went to Warren for the Ribfest and free Aaron Tippin concert at the park....yep, storm rolled in and we got drenched as we quickly made our way to the car..
but, it felt sooooo good!

Today I leave you with a pretty picture of my funny colored
hydrangea

supposed to be Blue or Pink...it's almost a combination of both
with a hint of lavender..

Blessings on this good Sunday,
Traci

The Reveal ~*~ Primitive Sawbuck Table ~*~

./'  ./'  ./' I'm so excited  ./' ./'  ./'
./'  ./' and I just can't hide it ./'  ./'

I finished my Sawbuck Table

if you remember a few posts back, I showed a picture of my sawbuck in the making.
I had purchased an antique tabletop recently....$5.00 investment
and look what I turned that five bucks into!

The top cleaned up so nicely, a light sanding
then I stained it with Ipswich Pine stain

Hey, hey, heY....did I catch you looking at my dust
(please don't look at the dust in the cracks of the barn wood walls, it has to be one of the worst things in the world to keep clean)
adds to the "primitive ambience"
see the little folding camp stool...  I bought it at a rummage sale for 50 cents
I have something in mind for it later - stay tuned

Just some stills

If you noticed the bent twig chair beside the table

here's a closer look, hubby and I used to make twig furniture
this was our first chair we made...quite a few years ago

And....some other little things I finished up in the last day or two

a little primitive Flag Tree
I made sure that the Flags were Made In The USA
tea stained them and used an old broom handle for the post

Another Birdhouse
painted this one London Grey, I'm liking this color
it's a grayish brown

So anyway, I guess that's all for today...

gotta go clean up the mess I made to make room for my table
(I didn't show ya pictures of that, LOL)

Blessings,
Traci

P.S. please do a rain dance for us.....we need rain, haven't had a good soaking in over a month
and my rain barrels are empty

Fast Horses, Cowboys and an upset Living Room

Can you guess what we did this weekend?

Friday night we went to the rodeo at the Flying W Ranch.  Mmm, there's just somethin' about
Bucking Broncs, Big Bulls and Cowboys..

Get's me everytime, oh, and Maygan too!  It was her first rodeo, she had a blast...

So here's some eye candy of different sorts for you

The upset living room...  We have been needing new furniture forever
well, yesterday was the day to buy a new sofa and loveseat

When we got the new pieces into the living room,
which was only after tearing the house apart to get them in the door
 I HATED it...
it's just not my style, but hubby and Maygan liked it cause it's comfy
it'll grow on me, and I'm happy that they're happy
it's just so much bigger than our old pieces
and I really don't spend a whole lot of time in front of the TV anyway

so, after much sweating, cussing and head shaking
it's taking shape

more to do, things to move and those pillows NEED new covers sewn up ;)

I did get me writing desk moved in though!  That I'm excited about

Also getting excited about this coming Friday!
We are heading to Rogers, OH to the market there
hoping to come home with some treasures I don't really have room for, LOL..

Not sure what I'll get into this week, stop back for updates
you just never know what may come of these two hands

Blessings,
Traci
